Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, Mount Zion Church has small bible studies held in member homes twice a month. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve. There have been several baptisms due to the understanding of the bible studies received and the close relationships that are built in the process. it is truly a successful ministry here at Mt. Zion and we encourage our members to find their group and join it. You will be blessed.

CELL GROUPS

Here are some benefits of being connected to our Mt. Zion cell group:

1. Studying the Word

The cell ministry teaches its members basic Christian living and worldview (grounding in the Word), providing rudimentary counseling and guidance in Christian living as needed, and provides motivation and creating vision in the minds of the members for serving Christ.

2. Training for Service

Group members are given the opportunity to lead out & are trained to be new leaders for our home church. It provides a venue where young Christians can get supervised experience serving others, coaching on sharing the gospel, and responding to challenges to their faith, and other ministry opportunities, and helping each member to develop their own ministry, including, for most, winning their own disciples.

3. Sense of Belonging
The family structure is often so fragmented that people don't have a feeling of belonging. Also, the mobility of our society plays a part in the lack of feeling they belong. The reason gangs are so on the rise is that they make the teens feel that they belong to something and someone. If people have a group of people that they can feel a part of they won't search for acceptance in the world's clubs.

"To the praise of the glory of His grace by which He made us accepted in the beloved." Ephesians 1:6

4. Stability

We live in unstable times in the natural but in the body of Christ we can and should have stability. Those who are new believers or have come back to the Lord need a cell group that will help them become stable in their walk with the Lord. These people need strong believers who will speak the Word of God into their lives and help them to grow up spiritually.

"Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. - I Corinthians 15:58

5. Safety / Security

A cell group can be a safe and secure environment for people who have suffered abuse, rejection, failure and low self-esteem. Many of these groups will study a particular subject to help them overcome in certain areas of their life.

"And being let go, they went to their own companions..." -Acts 4:23

6. Support / Strength

When the storms of life come there is need for a group of believers who will pray for us, encourage us, and be there when we need them. These groups often help with practical needs as well. The group also provides members help and opportunity to build relationships with each other.
