Prayer is talking to God as a friend.
It is part of a divine-human communication. It is not just giving orders or providing information.
Prayer is our response to God who has already spoken.
He has revealed Himself in Jesus, the living Word, the Bible.
At Mt. Zion, we believe …
Time spent with God is never wasted. Prayer should be as much a part of our daily routine as eating, drinking and sleeping. Spending time with God is essential for healthy spiritual growth and not an optional extra, yet many of us experience frustration knowing that our prayer life could be much more than it is. However, starting a regular prayer routine can be difficult.
Our prayer team meets a few times a week casting the petitions of our pastor, members, sick & Shut-in members, our community, family, friends and loved ones to the Lord.
On the First Sabbath of every month at 6:00am, we have an early morning prayer service where we share in:
- Songs
- Group prayers (each group having a different subject)
- Scripture readings
- Speaker leading out in discussion – Presently ” Preparation For The Final Conflict”
- Group discussions on prayer – Effective praying methods, Types of prayers, etc.
- Special music
- and much more…
The early morning prayer session closes out and the each one present enjoys the fellowship over a light breakfast before Sabbath School starts. It is a great spiritual experience – we invite all our members and visitors to join us and share in an early morning service as we look to our Lord in being more effective in praying.

Here are some suggestions on how to start your personal prayer life:
1. Choose a designated daily time to meet with God.
Write it in your appointment book. Fix the time firmly in your mind. If your primary prayer time is not when you first get up in the
morning, remember nonetheless to make contact with God first thing in the day. And make sure to set aside enough time.
2. Set a specific minimum amount of time for your daily appointment with God.
This may vary, depending upon your circumstances. At times it may increase – or emergencies may reduce it. On holidays,
vacations, and days off, plan on spending extra time with God.
3. Choose a regular location where you can meet with God.
It may be your office, bedroom or garden. Select a place where interruptions can be kept to a minimum.
In prayer we:
Respond with thanksgiving for the love of Jesus, the splendour of His creation and the hope of His return.
express our petitions for His kingdom to come when facing sin and selfishness and all it consequences, feeling
that God is far away ask Him to intervene, for friends in need, for enemies lost in sin, for a world suffering.
Prayer Request
There is power in prayer and we want to keep praying for you!
Do you have a prayer request or praise report? Would you like to have your request prayed for by the church family? Would you like to share your praise reports and answered prayers with the church family.
We would love to hear them all!

Mt. Zion has an extensive network of praying people. We pray often and regularly for the people who submit requests, and for their needs. Personal details of people and needs are respected with confidence.
