Mission Statement

To have engaging youth programs that will help to draw attention to the needs of individual youth through fellowship and outreach programs.

Goals and Objectives

  • Offer youth the spiritual equipment needed to face the world

  • Use the youth in service

  • Build stronger relationships within the youth of our church

Theme for 2014: “Don’t Spit Me Out!”

We have based this theme on the passage from Revelation 3:16 – “So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth”.
Everyday we live is an additional page in our book called Life! Many pages of our life are full of mystery, adventure, sadness, joy, love, and more which have all been used to develop who we are. However, at one point in time, the final page will be written. We don’t know when or how it will be written so we must always be ready.

We within the Mount Zion Youth Ministries department have made it our goal to make sure that our youth will never be called lukewarm and will be provided with all the necessary tools and support to make the active decision to be on Fire for Christ. So the statement our team leaves you with is: “Everyone has a story…What will your ending be?”
 

Activities for 2014

  • Youth Sabbath School – Every Saturday at 9:15AM – Start your morning off right. Join our knowledgeable youth teachers Rodney Brewster, Sanjay Brown, and Carol Norris for an in-depth study of the week’s lesson. Come with your questions and prepare for interesting discussions. Find your appropriate book on this website under the “Resources” tab

  • Adventist Youth Society (AYS) – Every Saturday at 5PM – Youth of all ages come together to worship and develop better relationships with Christ by having a better understanding of Him and His expectations for us! All are welcome!

  • Youth Day – Youth day is a day where a special emphasis is put on everything youth starting with Sabbath School all the way through to our night time social activity. 

  • Friday Night Live (FNL) – 2nd Friday’s of every month at 7PM – Youth ages 13-35 can come to this monthly event to have free refreshments while offering their testimonies of praise and have a safe environment to discuss matters important to them.

     

  • Bible University (Bible U) – 4th Friday’s of every month at 7PM – Everyone is invited to come and learn more about the word of God and get answers to their questions in this monthly program presented by our Youth Elder – Sanjay Brown.

     

What’s New for 2014

The North American Division of Seventh-Day Adventist has created a new initiative called Mission Lifeguard. The purpose of this initiative is to reclaim the youth that have left the church. Mount Zion Youth Ministries is proud to be one of the first churches in our conference to join in the effort of finding out what the needs of our youth are in the 21st century and how we can get them back!

Give Towards The Movement!

Youth ministries is a work that never stops. Throughout the year, we use many resources to bring our youth the best. If you have a special passion for the youth and would like to contribute your time, please do not hesitate to connect with our Youth Leader. If you would like to give financially, you may include it in your weekly tithes and offering and use one of the extra lines on the envelope to mark AYS along with your desired contribution.

Looking Ahead

Youth is our Passion. One of the main goals of the Mount Zion youth ministries department besides reclaiming our missing youth is to have more youth baptisms through the efforts of God in our department. We don’t just want our youth in the pews but we want them dedicated to Christ and His service.
